October Kindness Assembly:
Thank you for Ms. Sophia and Ms. Lombardi for running such a fun assembly to kick off our Kindness Kids Program. During the month of October, Forrest School will be recognizing students that are demonstrating RESPECT both inside and outside of the classroom.
Thank you to Mrs. Lawson and all of our 4th grade parent volunteers and students for making our car wash such a huge success.
School's out for SUMMER! The 2023-2024 school year has officially come to an end. Have a happy and safe summer! See you in September.
The 3rd graders had a Q&A session with Mr. Placenti this morning! It was a wonderful way to learn more about our favorite principal. Students asked questions such as:
- "What advice would you give students our age to be successful?"
- "Why did you choose to be a principal at Forrest School?" and
- "What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?"
Thank you Mr. Placenti for being the BEST principal!
The 4th graders went head to head in a kickball game this week. It was a close game, but the winner was... Miss Criscenzo's class !! Way to go Team Blue!
The 4th graders had an amazing time at their Picnic Fun Day! Thank you to our 4th Grade Committee, Mrs. Duncan, all of our parent volunteers, and our amazing PTA for making this such a memorable day for our students!
The 3rd and 4th graders had a morning full of music! Students had the opportunity to listen to all the different instrument options they could play starting in 4th grade such as the violin, drums, cello, trumpet & saxophone!
On Thursday, May 30th, Forrest School held its annual Tanglewood concert! This year the theme was "100 Years of Friendship." Thank you to the PTA, Fair Lawn Building and Grounds Department, Fair Lawn Parks and Recreation, our amazing Forrest School staff, Mr. and Mrs. Otten, Mrs. O'Shea, and of course the wonderful Mrs. Knitel for helping to make the night such a memorable experience for our students.
The PTA sure knows how to spoil the teachers of Forrest School! For Teacher Appreciation Week, the staff of Forrest enjoyed a catered lunch, tons of delicious snacks, hallway decorations, and a breakfast hosted by our wonderful principal Mr. Placenti.
The 4th Graders danced the night away at their "Glow" Party! Thank you to our PTA for putting together such a memorable event.
On Friday, May 17th, Forrest held another successful Field Day! Shoutout to Mr. Villanella and our parent volunteers for a fun and wet day!
On Monday, April 8th, the 1st graders had the opportunity to dine in the Forrest School Bistro! Students learned all about proper dining etiquette from our Manner's Monday Committee while enjoying a delicious 3-course meal. Thank you to our parent volunteers for helping to make this a memorable experience for our students!
Forrest School's blacktop turned into a Solar Eclipse viewing party for staff, students & parents after school on Monday! It was wonderful to experience this amazing event together!
During the month of March, the teachers of Forrest School selected their favorite books to battle it out in the Tournament of Books! Each class listened to and voted on their favorite books weekly. The final two books in the championship round were "The Book With No Pictures" and "The Day the Crayons Quit".
With a wopping 207 votes the winner was......
"The Book With No Pictures" by B.J. Novak!

Forrest School had an "out of this world" experience visiting the moon with Mr. Matt from What's Out There Star lab! Students learned all about the phases of the moon, what a solar eclipse is, and took a look at how the moon travels across the night sky!
On Friday, March 1st, Forrest School welcomed members of the Memorial Middle School Honors Society to read to all classes! Students & teachers enjoyed listening to a variety of books read by the former Forrest School students.
On Monday, the students and staff of Forrest School celebrated Mardi Gras! Our Mardi Gras celebration was a fun cultural experience for our students. Thank you to Madame Kazamir and Mrs. Knitel for creating such a fun and educational learning opportunity.
On Thursday, February 8th, the students of Forrest rocked the 100th day of school!
