Student Services
The Student Services Department of Fair Lawn Public Schools is dedicated to fostering the academic, social, and emotional development of all students within the district. Under the leadership of Assistant Superintendent Camille DeFranco, the department offers a comprehensive range of services to support student success.
Key Services Offered:
· Special Education: Led by Supervisors of Student Services, Peter Pitrelli and Natalie Balon, the department ensures that students with diverse learning needs receive appropriate educational services, including individualized education programs (IEPs) and specialized instructional support.
· School Counseling & Student Wellness: Led by Supervisor Anthony Guttilla, this division focuses on the mental health and well-being of students, providing counseling services, wellness programs, and resources to promote a healthy school environment.
· Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS): Targeted interventions are available for students requiring additional academic or behavioral support, aiming to address challenges promptly and effectively.
· Health Services: School nurses and health professionals collaborate to maintain a safe and healthy school setting, managing health plans, administering medications, and responding to medical emergencies.
The Student Services Department works collaboratively with educators, parents, and the community to create an inclusive and supportive educational environment, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
