Important March Dates
March 9th - 2:05 dismissal
March 28th 12:45 dismissal for conferences
Math: We will be on Chapter 6 and 7. We will be working on our addition and subtraction facts, teen collections, 2D and 3D shapes, estimation, and surveys.
Reading: We are continuing to work on building our stamina. We will begin our next Unit and focus on learning new things. We are reading to learn. Students will be looking at Nonfiction books and learn about their world through real information.
Writing: We are working on our How-to books. Readers and writers use How-to books all the time to build things, cook, or simply learn how to do something fun. Students love working on these because they get to teach the class new things. Important words to use in these types of writing are first, next, then and last!
Science & Social Studies: This month we will celebrate Dr. Seuss and learn about his life. We will learn about spring and the signs of spring. We will also explore movement, force, and measurement in science.
Other: Westmoreland will be collecting bars of soap for the Good Will Ambassadors to donate. We will also have a GREEN bagel breakfast in class on Friday, March 17th to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. :)
